The 1st Korean American Business Conference to Be Held in April Next Year

The inaugural Korean American Business Conference, hosted by the Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce (FKACC), will take place from April 17 to 19 next year at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, Georgia.

This conference aims to support the expansion of Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the U.S. market and foster mutual growth among Korean American businesspeople. Major organizations, including the Overseas Koreans Agency, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, and the Korea Federation of SMEs, will collaborate on the event, and 15 metropolitan governments from South Korea are expected to participate.

Lee Kyung-chul, President of FKACC, expressed his pride in hosting the event in Atlanta, stating, “We plan to allocate approximately $4 million to organize a well-structured conference.” He added that a forum will be held to promote exchanges between U.S. local governments and South Korean regional governments, hoping that Atlanta will gain greater global recognition through this event.

No Sang-il, Senior Vice President of FKACC, explained that the decision to hold the event biennially was based on discussions following last year’s World Korean Business Convention, where participants expressed a desire to continue such gatherings.

Kim Mi-kyung, Head of Global Business at FKACC, noted that many Korean SMEs seek to enter the U.S. market but struggle to find the right approach. She emphasized that the conference, held every two years, will serve as a valuable platform to provide practical support for these businesses.

Han Oh-dong, President of the Georgia-Atlanta Korean Chamber of Commerce, expressed his excitement about hosting such a major event in Atlanta, stating, “It is a great honor for us as business leaders.” He added, “I hope this conference will serve as a turning point for the advancement of the Korean American business community in Georgia and Atlanta.” He also called for strong support and participation from Korean American entrepreneurs and the broader community.

Founded in 1980, FKACC is dedicated to advancing the interests of Korean American businesses and currently boasts 55,000 members.
