First Meeting of the Board, Advisory Committee, and Executive Team Held; October Scholarship Golf Tournament and September World Korean Business Convention Participation Discussed
The Southeastern Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce, led by President Dong-jun Shin, has completed its organizational appointments and begun full-scale activities to support Korean American business communities in the region.
On June 27, the Federation held its first meeting of the Board of Directors, Advisory Committee, and Executive Team at Sorabol Restaurant in Duluth, Georgia, where it announced its major business plans for the second half of the year.
President Shin said, “It has been four months since I began my term as president, and we have finally completed the appointments for the Board and Advisory Committee. Since the Federation has had limited activity in recent years, now is the time to focus on revitalization. I would greatly appreciate the advice and support of our directors and advisors for the development of the Federation.”
The Federation is an affiliated organization of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA and represents approximately 25 local Korean American chambers of commerce across six Southeastern states: Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
During the meeting, appointment certificates were presented to key leaders, including board members and advisory committee members. The Federation also appointed its executive officers, including vice presidents, secretary general, special advisor to the president, event director, deputy secretary, and finance director.
The Federation also announced two major upcoming projects. First, it will host a Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament for Children of Small Business Owners on October 18 at the RTJ Golf Trail in Alabama. Board member Seok-ki Choi will serve as organizing committee chair.
Before that, the Federation plans to officially participate in the 24th World Korean Business Convention, which will be held from September 28 to 30 in Songdo, Incheon, Korea, to expand its global business network.
Moving forward, the Federation plans to strengthen cooperation among member chambers, support next-generation business leaders, and promote programs that contribute to the growth of the Korean American economy in the Southeastern United States.
