Shin Dong-jun Inaugurated as President of the Southeast Korean American Chamber Federation (KACCSE)

The Korean American Chamber of Commerce Southeast (KACCSE), a federation representing Korean American chambers of commerce across six southeastern U.S. states, held its reorganization and relaunch ceremony on the afternoon of the 7th at Canton House in Duluth. During the ceremony, Shin Dong-jun was inaugurated as the federation’s fifth president.

KACCSE was established to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among Korean American chambers of commerce operating in six southeastern states—Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee—and to build a shared foundation for next-generation economic development.

In his inaugural address, President Shin said he would “do his utmost to contribute to economic development in the southeastern region, actively identify and support next-generation entrepreneurs, and promote technological exchange and collaboration by creating synergy between Korean-invested companies and local Korean American businesses.”

Lee Jun-ho, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Atlanta, congratulated the new leadership, noting that “the Southeast is a core hub of Korean economic cooperation, where active investment by Korean companies is injecting economic vitality and creating quality jobs.” He added that he hopes the chambers across the six states will work closely together to advance the regional business ecosystem, pledging that the Consulate General will actively support such solidarity and cooperation.

At the ceremony, Hwang Byung-gu, chairman of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA, presented an official letter of appointment and the federation’s flag to the newly inaugurated president and delivered words of encouragement. Welcome remarks were given by Han Oh-dong, president of the Georgia Korean American Chamber of Commerce.

Congratulatory remarks were also delivered by Park Sun-geun, president of the Korean-American Friendship Association; Lee Kyung-chul, chairman of the Atlanta Council of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council; Kim Ki-hwan, president of the Southeast Korean Association Federation; Park Eun-seok, president of the Atlanta Korean Association; Georgia State Senator Josh McLaurin; Gwinnett County Commissioner Kirkland Carden; Brookhaven Mayor John Park; and Duluth City Councilmember Sarah Park.

An appointment ceremony for the KACCSE executive leadership was also held. Kim Moon-kyu, former vice president of the Atlanta Korean Association, was appointed chairman of the board. Additional appointments included Kyung-gu Cho as senior vice president; Jang-won Cho, Yong-jin Cho, and Sang-hak Ji as vice presidents; Ji-na Lee as secretary general; Jinny Oh as secretary; Mi-kyung Yang as director of media; Chang-hwan Oh as director of events; and Min-jong Yoo as special advisor to the president.
