Santa Clara Korean-American Chamber of Commerce President Wonpyo Lee Attends Korean Community Meeting with President Lee Jae Myung

On July 25, Wonpyo Lee, President of the Santa Clara Korean-American Chamber of Commerce (SCKACC), attended a Korean community meeting held in San Francisco alongside Taehui Han, a Senior Manager at Apple and an active member of the Santa Clara Korean-American Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, a Q&A session was held with President Lee Jae Myung. President Lee introduced the K-Silicon Belt Initiative, a collaborative effort currently being advanced by Korean-American Chambers of Commerce across America’s leading technology hubs, including Silicon Valley, Silicon Hills, Silicon Forest, and Silicon Prairie.

President Lee explained that the initiative aims to connect Korean-American business leaders, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals across these major innovation clusters to strengthen startup collaboration, investment opportunities, technology partnerships, and the overall global business ecosystem between Korea and the United States. He also emphasized the importance of continued interest and support from the Korean government to help expand the initiative.

As a VIP guest, President Lee also participated in networking sessions with prominent investors and industry leaders. He met with representatives from SK hynix Investment, Primer Sazze Partners, Quantum Primer Ventures, and several private equity firms, where they exchanged views on artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, deep technology, and global startup investments, while exploring potential opportunities for future collaboration.

On July 26, President Lee is scheduled to attend a meeting with Kim Kyung-hyup, Commissioner of the Overseas Koreans Agency, to discuss expanding the role of overseas Korean business leaders and enhancing support for Korean businesses and next-generation startup ecosystems in Silicon Valley.

The Santa Clara Korean-American Chamber of Commerce will continue to expand the K-Silicon Belt Initiative, strengthen the network of Korean-American business leaders throughout the United States’ major innovation regions, and further establish itself as a global platform connecting Korea and Silicon Valley through economic cooperation and innovation.
