The Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Greater New York (KACCNY), led by Chairman Moon Cho, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO CDMX) on June 8 in Mexico City, establishing a cooperative framework to expand trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate to promote business networking among their member companies, facilitate import-export partnerships, identify investment opportunities, and enhance tourism, arts, and cultural exchanges.

The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the cosmetics, consumer goods, and entertainment and cultural industries, driven by the growing popularity of Korean culture (K-Culture) in Mexico.

Chairman Moon Cho stated, “We will actively support the development of an economic network connecting New York and Mexico so that businesses from both regions can achieve meaningful commercial results. We hope this agreement will create new growth opportunities for Korean businesses throughout North America.”

Founded 151 years ago, CANACO CDMX is one of Mexico’s leading business organizations, representing more than 15,000 member companies. The chamber plans to provide market intelligence and business connections to support Korean companies seeking to enter the Mexican market.

The signing ceremony was attended by KACCNY Chairman Moon Cho, New Jersey Chapter President Joonho Woo, Executive Director Sung Hong, CEO of Kingston Realty, and Vice President Jungsook Moon, among others. Representing CANACO CDMX were President Vicente Gutiérrez Camposeco and senior executives responsible for economic and trade affairs.

Meanwhile, a 30-member Korean community supporters’ delegation organized by KACCNY for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America is scheduled to attend and cheer for the Republic of Korea national team during its first group-stage match against the Czech Republic on June 11 at Estadio Akron in Mexico.
